WHITE GOODS IN THE SCRAP METAL WORLD

Do you know what white goods are? (no, not linen in this case.) You probably own at least 4. Some in your kitchen, some in your laundry room or maybe in the garage; you know the extra one that keeps pop and beer cold and ready to serve on the spot. White goods are appliances including stoves, fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, microwave ovens, dishwashers etc.

The sad part is that some of these items could  retire to the landfill depending on where you live and what type of recycling arrangement your area offers. Or in some cases, depending on the town you live in you must pay a fee to dispose of them. When you see people driving by and stopping at the curb and taking away a stove for example, please say thank you to yourself .......by having it picked up by a scrap collector, you just saved it from possibly going to the landfill. Instead, it  will now go to the salvage yard  to be weighed for payment to a scrap collector. From there it will be transported to a smelting plant and turned back into steel.  In turn it is sold back the the factories and turned into, you go it, another stove.

It's a win-win for everyone.

Thank goodness for scrap collectors......they are making a difference to our world.....and I am proud to say I am one of them.
